Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Ingredients:

Gather your eggs, milk, flour, and butter. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).

  2. Mix the Batter:

In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until smooth. Gradually stir in the flour, mixing just until the batter is lump-free.

  3. Heat the Muffin Tin:

Divide the butter evenly among the cups of a 12-cup muffin tin—about 1/2 teaspoon per cup. Place the tin in the hot oven for 2–3 minutes, or until the butter melts and starts to sizzle.

  4. Add the Batter:

Carefully remove the hot muffin tin from the oven. Quickly pour the batter into each cup, dividing it evenly.

  5. Bake to Perfection:

Return the tin to the oven and bake for 5 minutes. Without opening the oven door, reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for about 25 minutes, or until the puddings are puffed and golden.

  6. Serve Hot:

Remove the Yorkshire puddings from the oven and serve immediately alongside your roast beef dinner and plenty of gravy.

Tips for Success:

    • Don’t open the oven door while baking—it can prevent the puddings from puffing up!
    • Serve them straight from the oven for maximum crispiness.
