
Mince Pies
These classic mince pies are a holiday favorite, featuring a buttery, orange-scented crust and a spiced mincemeat filling. Perfectly portioned and dusted with powdered sugar, they’re a delightful treat to share with loved ones during the festive season.

Prepare the Dough:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).In a large bowl, sift together the flour, ¼ cup confectioners' sugar, and cinnamon.
Add the butter and blend using a pastry cutter or two forks until the mixture resembles fine crumbs.
Stir in the orange zest, then gradually add the ice water, mixing until the dough comes together in a ball.

Shape the Pastries:
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about ¼ inch thickness.
Use a 3-inch round cutter to create bases and a 2-inch cutter for the tops, re-rolling scraps as needed.
Press the larger circles into muffin tins or mini tart pans to form the base of each pie.

Spoon about 1 tablespoon of mincemeat filling into each pastry base.
Place the smaller dough circles over the filling, gently pressing the edges to seal.
Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
